Ammonia NH3 Sensor

Highly Precise

Prana Air’s Ammonia (NH₃) Sensor Module detects ammonia levels with a resolution of 50 ppm. It’s a simple option for general testing and custom setups.

NH3 Sensor Introduction

The Ammonia (NH₃) Sensor with PCB offers highly accurate detection at 1 ppb, a huge improvement over older sensors. Its in-house PCB provides stable performance, consistent readings, and easy integration into research projects, environmental monitoring systems, or industrial setups. The sensor is compact and designed for straightforward installation, enabling developers to quickly deploy it in custom devices or automated monitoring stations. It ensures reliable and precise ammonia measurement over long periods, even in challenging environments. With ready-to-use connectivity and strong durability, this sensor is ideal for applications that require high sensitivity, including air quality monitoring, lab testing, and safety systems.

Ammonia NH3 Sensor Variant A

The Prana Air Ammonia (NH3) Sensor can detect ammonia gas in the air. It uses proven technology and smart design to give accurate results. This small device is made for everyday use as well as for use in factories or industries. The sensor works by using a chemical reaction to find ammonia in the air. It gives stable and reliable readings, even if other gases are present. It also has a built-in temperature sensor that helps adjust the readings when the temperature changes. The sensor can send its data in two ways – as a digital signal or as a regular voltage – making it simple to connect and use in different setups.

NH3 Sensor Calibration

NH3 sensor calibration means checking and adjusting the sensor’s reading against a trusted standard. During calibration, the sensor is tested under specific controlled conditions: a temperature of about 23°C (with a 3°C range), a relative humidity of around 50% (with a 15% range), pressure between 0.9 to 1.1 atm, and an air flow of 0.05 m/s. These conditions help ensure that the sensor’s readings are accurate and reliable. The process uses gas cylinders that meet NIST standards as the reference point, making sure that the measurements are both traceable and precise.

What is Ammonia (NH3)?

NH3 Pollution Sources

Ammonia (NH3) is a clear gas that has a very strong smell and can cause air pollution. It comes from sources like livestock waste, farming activities, and some pesticides. Although ammonia stays in the air for only a few hours, it quickly reacts with other pollutants. This reaction makes the gas harmful and poisonous to breathe.

Electrochemical Technology

Electrochemical Technology

Our ammonia sensor uses a simple chemical process to detect gas. It has two metal parts and a substance that connects them. When ammonia in the air enters the sensor, it causes a small chemical reaction that creates an electrical current. The more ammonia there is, the stronger the current. This means the sensor can tell exactly how much ammonia is in the air by measuring the current.
