Chlorine (Cl₂) Sensor

Highly Precise

Prana Air’s chlorine sensor is a small device that helps detect chlorine gas in the air. It uses proven technology and smart design to give accurate results. This sensor can be used in many places, from everyday setups to large industrial systems, where it's important to safely and reliably measure chlorine gas levels.

Chlorine Sensor Introduction

The sensor works by using a chemical reaction to detect chlorine gas in the air. It is designed to be accurate and reliable, even over a long time. To make sure it stays accurate in different temperatures, it has a built-in sensor that adjusts for temperature changes. It also gives readings in both digital and analogue formats, so it can be easily connected to many types of devices and systems.

Chlorine (Cl₂) Sensor Variant A

The Prana Air CO sensor uses advanced electrochemical technology to detect carbon monoxide (CO) in the air. It works by taking a small sample of air and reacting with it inside the sensor. When CO is present, a chemical reaction happens that creates a small electric current. The strength of this current shows how much carbon monoxide is in the air — the more CO, the stronger the signal.

Sensor Calibration

Calibrating a chlorine (Cl₂) sensor means making sure it shows the correct gas levels. To do this, we compare the sensor's reading with a known, accurate value. This test is done in a controlled setting—with a temperature of around 23°C, average room humidity, normal air pressure, and a gentle airflow. These conditions help us get the most accurate results. We use special gas cylinders that follow trusted standards (called NIST standards) to check and adjust the sensor. This way, we make sure the sensor works properly and gives correct readings every time.

What is Cl2?

Ammonia source image

Chlorine gas (Cl₂) is a yellow-green gas with a strong smell. It's used in many everyday things like cleaning water, making paper and clothes, bleaching, and even in medicine. But chlorine gas can be dangerous if not used carefully. It reacts easily with other substances and can harm people if safety rules aren't followed. That's why it's very important to handle it properly, especially in factories or workplaces. Using chlorine safely means always following the right safety steps and guidelines.

What technology is being used in Cl₂ Sensor?

Technology working image

Our chlorine sensor uses a technology called electrochemical sensing, which is known for being very accurate and sensitive. The sensor works like a small fuel cell that measures how much chlorine gas is in the air. Inside the sensor, there are two main parts called electrodes, and a special material that helps them work together. When chlorine gas enters the sensor, a chemical reaction happens between the electrodes. This reaction creates a small electric current, and the strength of that current shows how much chlorine is in the air. Thanks to this smart technology, the sensor can give real-time chlorine readings to help keep people and the environment safe in different places.
